Apple recently previewed the Apple Al Maryah Island retail store, this new retail store is located on the cascading water steps. The new retail store connects The Galleria Al Maryah Island shopping mall directly to the shore, bringing the best of Apple’s products and services to the coastal landscape of Abu Dhabi’s core financial district.
Throughout the in-store space, customers can explore Apple’s latest products or seek assistance with shopping.
The Apple Al Maryah Island retail store will offer three unique Today at Apple courses inspired by the beautiful surroundings of the retail store and the creative culture of Abu Dhabi:

Photographer Mohamed Somji will lead a co-designed Light Walk course on March 6 and share his personal tips. The Today at Apple course, held at the Forum interactive workshop at the Apple Al Maryah Island retail store, will feature local musicians, artists, developers, entrepreneurs, educators and reflect Abu Dhabi’s innovative community. To continue celebrating the grand opening of the new retail store, visitors can listen to an exclusive, specially crafted Apple Music playlist featuring indigenous UAE artists.
Today at Apple hosts classes at Forum interactive workshops and invites the local community to the new retail store.
The multicultural team of the new retail store includes more than 80 employees from 28 countries and regions, and can communicate in more than 30 languages in total, including Arabic, French, Hindi, Tagalog and more. Throughout the open space, customers can explore the latest products, learn about services like the Apple Trade In program, or get expert advice or support at Genuis Grove, while seeking shopping assistance from knowledgeable Apple Specialists.

The Apple Al Maryah Island retail store introduces new design elements to reflect its surroundings. Extending from the sidewalk, two slopes of Absolute Black granite – the first time the material has been used in an Apple Store retail store – run through the water and seamlessly connect to the store’s interior, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside. The retail store is also fitted with a gold carbon fiber roof, sourced locally in the UAE. Customers entering from the entrance of The Galleria Al Maryah Island shopping centre will walk through mirrored stainless steel walkways, enveloped in the view and sound of running water over the glass façade. A 22-meter-long mirrored foil ceiling creates a kaleidoscope effect, with running water falling down the wall and mirror images reflected on the ceiling.

Upon entering the retail store, customers are greeted with an unusually stunning panoramic view of Abu Dhabi’s skyline. If looking up, customers will also see a unique ceiling made of gold leaf fabric. Natural light shines into the store through the glass curtain wall, and banyan trees add greenery to the interior. An innovative luminous floor system combined with displacement ventilation cools the entire building.
The new retail store welcomes its first customers on Friday, February 25th at 5pm local time. The health and safety of customers and team members is Apple’s highest priority, so comprehensive health measures will be implemented at the retail store, and the opening day of the Apple Al Maryah Island store will be by appointment only.
