LG has taken the cover off a new mid-range smartphone called the LG K42. The smartphone launched silently in the Dominican Republic.

Besides being a mid-range device, the phone offers some quite attractive features like a large-sized battery, quad-camera system, and a tall screen aspect ratio.

Diving into the phone specs, the new LG K42 arrives with a 6.6-inch display panel, which supports a full HD+ resolution.

The phone weighs 182 grams and has a dimension of 165 x 76.7 x 8.4mm. It is MIL-STD-810G certified, which means it can survive extreme weather conditions.

On the inside, the Helio P22 chipset powers the smartphone.

Out of the box, the LG K42 features 3GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. For storage expansion purposes the device features a MicroSD card slot.

On the rear panel, it packs a quad-camera system alongside an LED flash in a top-left aligned rectangular module.

The camera setup includes a 13-megapixel primary shooter, a 5-megapixel super-wide sensor, and a pair of 2-megapixel cameras – one is a macro lens, and the other is a depth assist sensor.

The Infinity-O punch-hole on its display houses an 8-megapixel camera.

The LG K42 comes pre-loaded with the LG UX based on Android 10 OS.

The phone is backed up by a 4,000mAh battery. It packs connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Other features on the LG phone includes a side-facing fingerprint scanner, a dedicated button for Google Assistant, and a 3D Sound Engine Feature.
