Oppo Find X2 full display specs leaks

Oppo Find X2 full display specs leak, including 120Hz refresh rate

Oppo has a new Find X2 flagship/tech showcase device on the way. That part we know for sure by now, since it has been frequenting the rumor mill. We are, however, still rather short on details, sans from an official denial for the possibility of an under-display camera on the phone. Plus, a vague VP comment on the upcoming phone’s thickness. Really not much to go by.

A promising new leak, courtesy of a rather reputable source on Weibo, sheds some light on the display of the Find X2. We can, apparently, look forward to a 6.5-inch, 3168 x 1440 pixel curved OLED panel. As for that all-important 2020 coolness factor, the panel will also support a 120Hz refresh rate. A previously rumored and now reaffirmed nifty extra.

Building on this nice bit of info, the source also goes on to explain that the Find X2 will allow users to freely choose between FHD+ and QHD+ resolution and 60Hz or 120Hz refresh rate in any combination they like. This means QHD+ at 120Hz is, allegedly, possible as well. A fact that might turn out to be important if a different recent rumor about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 series and their inability to do QHD, 120Hz turns out to be true.

That being said, these are pretty specific details, which, while potentially important, could line-up in any number of ways on the final products in question. Hardware or software limitations might be at play. Or, alternatively, the decision to limit certain display modes of operation could be a proactive one to ensure a proper user experience. Perhaps battery drain is a consideration. We can only speculate at this point.

As for the few other scarce bits and pieces of info we have on the Oppo Find X2, we are fairly certain that the Snapdragon 865 will power the 5G handset. Some are also expecting to see a camera image sensor with “omnidirectional” autofocus (the successor to Dual Pixel AF). The idea of record-breaking 50W wireless charging is also being tossed around.
