Samsung has launched its latest flagship devices at its annual Unpacked event. However, the company has skipped the regular naming scheme and the new devices are called Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra.
While the new Galaxy flagship comes loaded with many obvious hardware and performance upgrades, the buzzwords for this year 2020 are high refresh rates and 5G.
Moving on to similar lines — all of the three devices come fitted with a 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED displays and high-speed 5G internet connectivity. However, Samsung will sell non-5G variants as well.
The camera department is another major area of improvement where Samsung has stuffed a whopping 108MP wide-angle lens in the S20 Ultra. Also, the S20 series is capable of recording videos at 8K resolution. Samsung has partnered with YouTube to facilitate an easy way to upload those UHD videos to YouTube.
To power the devices, Samsung is using its home-baked 7nm+ Exynos 990 SoC for the global variants of the Galaxy S20 (6.2-inch), S20+ (6.7-inch), and S20 Ultra (6.9-inch). Meanwhile, as expected, the variants sold in the US will be powered by the 7nm+ Snapdragon 865.
The devices will be up for sale from March 6. with the S20 5G starting at $999, S20+ 5G at $1199, and S20 Ultra 5G at $1399. They will be available in Cosmic Grey, Cosmic Black, Cloud Blue, and Cloud Pink color options.
